Public transportation in Israel can get you everywhere. Although the number of private cars is on the rise, most Israelis still do not own a car and yet manage to get around just fine. This means you, too, can get pretty much anywhere without one! But let's look at all your different options.

Getting Around Jerusalem

Jerusalem is a walker’s town. It's the only way to explore all the nooks and alleyways of the Old City and of many picturesque neighborhoods.  It's also the most intimate way to get to know all the sights and sounds of the place.

If you’re fit and don’t mind wearing out some shoe rubber, you can walk around the western part of town at any time of day or night without worrying about your safety.
