Birthright Trip
free trip to Israel for young adults

What is a Birthright trip? It's a unique opportunity for young adults to visit Israel.

If you are a Jewish young adult between 18 and 26 years old and out of high school, you may be eligible to apply for a 10-day organized free trip to Israel through Birthright-Taglit.

This is not your run-of-the-mill trip, however. Taglit-Birthright Israel was created to send young Jewish adults from all over the world to Israel as a gift in order to diminish the growing division between Israel and Jewish communities around the world; to strengthen the sense of solidarity among world Jewry; and to strengthen participants' personal Jewish identity and connection to the Jewish people. The trips are sponsored in part the government of Israel, Jewish Federations and philantropists.

Over 260,000 people have gone on a Birthright trip to Israel and many describe it as the experience of a life time. Some have even published a book about it. So why not give it a shot? You choose from over two dozen tour organizers, depending on your interests and Jewish affiliation.

Demand for the trips is soaring (over 40,000 people applied during the 7-day registration period in February 2011 for the summer tours!)

To qualify, you must be:

  • Between 18 adn 26 years old
  • Out of high school
  • Not have been to Israel previously on an organized tour or educational program (personal visits with family don't count)

Check the Birthright website’s FAQ to see if you qualify, for more details, and how to apply.
